In June, car imports fell by 1.6%
In June 2014, Azerbaijan imported 3,783 vehicles, which is 1.6% less than in May (3,844). The trend has been since April this year, after the application of stricter environmental requirements for imported vehicles.
During the first half of this year has been put into the country from abroad 34,359 vehicles, which is 28.3% less than in the comparable period of 2013.
The share of passenger cars (27,444) in the structure of imports amounted to 89.9%. Compared with the same period in 2013, supply of cars decreased 12,269 units.
Since June this year at the direction of the head of state executive power of Baku city parking meters are set in the capital, which are devices to pay for parking in the daytime on the carriageway roads. At the same time the cost of parking starts from 1 manat for 1 hour. Previously, individual caretakers asked for his car service is not more than 0.40 manat. Prior to that were commissioned built with state funds of underground garages where parking costs per day for at least 6 manat. Therefore, as noted by one of the drivers, the car gradually from the vehicle turns a luxury item.
Since the beginning of the year were imported: buses - 167 units (for the same period in 2013 - 497), trucks – 3,039 (3,708) and special equipment - 236 (499). -08D-
