Azerbaijan will facilitate social benefits. At today's board meeting of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection Fizuli Alekperov, the Minister reported that low-income families, and persons with disabilities first and second groups (without the possibility to work) will be able to receive life without the benefit of the annual confirmation of such a necessity.
The minister said that all areas of the organization will be reviewed and brought into conformity with certain standards. The existing mechanism for providing targeted social assistance is a very effective tool to ensure social protection and poverty alleviation in the country.
However, poor people, regardless of the labor potential and skills since the Soviet era are accustomed to targeted assistance, and it corrupts people and does not let them earn at least a few AZN by their own work. Therefore, persons who have the potential to be provided with work - says the minister. However, he cited the example of the results of the project "Self Support" - an alternative mechanism for social assistance. According to him, as a result of the project almost all former recipients of targeted assistance have decided to make - so significant was the difference between earnings and targeted assistance.
The Minister said that almost half (49%) of people receiving targeted social assistance are families with children, while almost a third of the recipients of targeted assistance may be subject to "self supporting". Planned innovation should not apply to pensioners and people deprived of their disability from birth and because of life circumstances.
At the board meeting, he threatened the staff of the Ministry that in September will be announced the results of audits in the Ministry of Labor offices. Responsible persons convicted of bribery and abuse of power will be laid off, the Minister added. - 17D-
