Problems of the village of Khoshbulag of Dashkesan region and the attitude of local authorities

Baku/12.06.23/Turan: The problem that arose between a group of residents of the village of Khoshbulag in Dashkesan region (460 km west of Baku) and local executive authorities remains unresolved. One of the critics, Anar Suleymanov, was sentenced to 30 days of administrative arrest after he and the villagers criticized the activities of local authorities on social networks.

"At 7 o'clock in the morning, four policemen came to the courtyard of our house and asked me to go to the regional police station. I didn't go. After that, I was handed a letter signed by the deputy head of the district police department, Vusal Gurbanov, with a request to report to the police department in connection with the administrative offense I committed,” Sahib Mammadzade told "Voice of America."

Sahib Mammadzadeh also presented to the "Voice of America" a photo of a letter handed to him signed by the deputy head of the Dashkesan region police department, Vusal Gurbanov, and a video about the visit of police officers came to his house, who invited Mammadzadeh to the police station.

At the same time, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs informed the Voice of America that there are no investigative actions against Sahib Mammadzade in the Dashkesan regional police department.

It was not possible to get comments from the Dashkesan regional executive authority on Sahib Mammadzade's critical statements. So, a police officer guarding the building answered the contact phone number on the official website of the Dashkesan regional executive authority. In the reception department of the regional executive authority, an unnamed person told the "Voice of America" that he had no authority to answer questions, recognized the phone number of another responsible person and never answered phone calls again.

The problems associated with the Khoshbulag municipality of Dashkesan region have been in the spotlight before.

In February 2021, Rasim Allahverdiyev, the former chairman of the Khoshbulag municipality of Dashkasan region, Shahbaz Mehdiyev, the head of the Dashkasan region department of the liquidated State Committee for Land Resources and Cartography, and Vugar Mammadov, a specialist in this department, were placed under investigation by the Anti-Corruption Department of the Prosecutor General's Office. An investigation was launched into suspected violations of the law during their tenure.

As a result of the investigative measures, substantial evidence was obtained indicating the deliberate collusion of Rasim Allahverdiyev with Shahbaz Mehdiyev and Vugar Mammadov. It was found that they collectively received a total of 25,400 manats of bribes from private individuals in exchange for the sale of state land located in the village of Khoshbulag in Dashkasan region. These funds were allegedly used for personal purposes.
