Quota for Hajj Remains Not Filled Up
Azerbaijan's quota for Hajj (2,400 people) this year has remained not filled up by 40 people, Turan was told in the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO).
Acceptance of applications launched on 20 February has been completed and the pilgrims are preparing to leave. They are offered two tariffs. The first rate is 5,750 US dollars and stay in a 4-bed room, while the second rate is 4,700 US dollars and stay in a 6-bed room. The quota for the second tariff has been fully replenished.
Because of tensions and wars in Syria and Iraq, pilgrims will not be sent by bus (which is much cheaper), but only by aircraft through charter flights of AZAL.
This year for the first time payment for the hajj is made not in mantas, but in US dollars. -05B-
