Six sites of the arrested journalist are blocked
Baku/02.11.18 / Turan: The access to the six sites of journalist Ikram Rahimov who was arrested on October 26, to which these sites belong, has been blocked, Turan was told by site staff. According to their information, the access to the sites was blocked on November 1, however, no information about their blocking was distributed. Previously, these sites have already been blocked without any warning. These are sites, realliq.az, realliqinfo.org, realinfo.az, realliqinfo.com and realliqinfo.az. A few weeks ago, the sites were unlocked. At the end of October, I. Rahimov stated that the unblocking took place after he was accepted into the socio-political department of the Presidential Administration.
Before his arrest on October 26, Rahimov claimed that he was being watched, he linked this to criticism of a high-ranking official in the Presidential Administration.In the PR department of the State Security Council, they say that the arrest of I. Rahimov is connected with the fact that he and his subordinates extorted money."The operative actions sanctioned by the court revealed that Ikram Rahimov, together with other persons, committed a series of criminal acts. In this regard, Ikram Rahimov is accused under the Articles 182.2.1 and 182.2.2 (repeated extortion by a group of persons who conspired in advance). Detained as a suspect, Rahimov was subsequently prosecuted. Rahimov himself denies the accusations, saying that he was arrested because of his articles.In 2016, Ikram Rahimov was deprived of his liberty for a period of one year due to slander.
