Ten people are arrested in Saatli region during a protest action
Today a group of residents of Saatli region tried to make picket in front of the Executive Power of the region, in protest against the tyranny of officials "who have eaten the" finance allocated by the government to eliminate the consequences of the floods in May and June 2010. Local police have repeatedly dispersed dissatisfaction of people demanding justice. To overcome the consequences of natural disasters in 2010, the government allocated 346 million manat (about $ 440 million), including the construction of houses for flood victims - 202.3 million. Based on the allocated funds, the construction of a house in a flood zone cost more than 63,000 manat. However, the real cost of building homes does not exceed 17-18 manat.
In March, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated AZN 6 million to restore the farm rate of 200 manat per a hectare.
On March 28 President issued an order for an additional 50 million manat to eliminate the flood in 2010 in the Aran area. In May, AZN 2 million were allocated for social and economic development of the areas affected by floods.
During the flood in 2010, 110 hectares of land were flooded and 20,000 homes were destroyed. According to official data, about 3,000 houses were built, 5,000 houses were repaired, five new settlements were created, and compensation amounting 20,000 manat were allocated. -17B—
