The announcement of the court decision in the Tofig Yagublu case postponed indefinitely
Baku/28.01.21/Turan: The announcement of the decision on the complaint of the member of the National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF) Tofig Yagublu, scheduled for today in the Baku Court of Appeal, has been postponed indefinitely. The formal reason was the absence of one of the judges considering the case.
Yagublu himself told reporters that the next postponement was due to the lack of a decision from the political authorities and the court's unwillingness to act independently.
In connection with today's meeting at the gates of the court and around its territory, reinforced police squads were concentrated. From time to time, they demanded that the assembled activists not gather five people at a time.
Tofig Yagublu was detained on March 22, 2020 in a falsified case of an accident and an attack on a married couple. The oppositionist announced a provocation against him. The investigation did not provide evidence of Yagubulu's use of physical force and the commission of an accident. However, on September 3, he was sentenced to four years and three months in prison.
Yagublu went on a hunger strike demanding an end to the trumped-up criminal charge and held her for 17 days. International human rights organizations, the EU, the US called for a reconsideration of the case. Finally, on September 18, the court changed the measure of restraint and transferred Tofig Yagublu to house arrest. –06D-

By that night, however, the mysterious visitor had departed, loaded onto a cargo platform and whisked away to the airport.
