The border guards reported on the detention of violators, criminals, suppression of smuggling
Baku/03.01.23/Turan: In December 2022, 73 violators of the Azerbaijani border were detained: 24 of them were citizens of Azerbaijan, 18 of Sri Lanka, 16 of Pakistan, 4 of India, 3 of Iran, 3 of Afghanistan, 2 of Turkey, 1 each of Bangladesh and Tajikistan. This is stated in the message of the State Border Service (SBS).
As part of the fight against illegal migration, 43 people were detained who tried to cross the border on false passports and visas.
For violation of the border regime, 1577 people were detained and subjected to appropriate penalties.
As part of measures to combat crime, 300 wanted people were handed over to law enforcement agencies. In addition, 421 people were prevented from leaving the country and 27 from entering.
The border guards also seized 319 kg 676 gr of narcotic drugs and 91147 psychotropic pills.
