The prosecutor urges the court to imprison the opposition leader for eight years
In the Baku Court of Grave Crimes At the trial in the case of Asif Yusifli, a member of the Mejlis of the PPFA, prosecutor asked to imprison Yusifli to eight years.
Yusifli was arrested on November 25, 2014 on charges of fraud (Article 178) and forgery (Article 320.) The victim in this case Farida Zulfugarova handed Yusifli 6500 manat for the transferring money to the officer Rafig Huseynov in the Ministry of Education. With this bribe Huseynov was to arrange education for the son of Zulfugarov in Ukraine.
The latter confirmed in court that he had received this amount from Yusifli. However, in 2010 Huseynov was arrested and could not return the money. Instead, Yusifli returned 1500 manat, but could not return the remaining sum. Zulfugarova has filed a complaint against him. However, during the investigation Yusifli returned the rest of the money, and added another 1,200 manat. At trial, the victim refused the claims to Yusifli, in their final statement she reiterated that she got back and has no complaints to Yusifli. The next trial will be held on 23 July. -03B-
