Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan intend to develop energy cooperation
Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan intends to continue strengthening and developing bilateral relationships in the energy field, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Natig Aliyev told journalists after the session of the Azerbaijani-Kazakhstan intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.
“We have discussed development of cooperation, which literally covers all the fields. Economic and trade relationships between our countries also demonstrate our growth – trade turnover between our countries increased by 42%, considering that last year we had a negative trend related to consequences of the global economic crisis,” Aliyev said.
Minister said energy is among the important directions of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
“As we know, Kazakhstan oil is transported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline. Both presidents pursue the correlated energy policy. Our countries are involved in almost all the energy projects in the Caspian region. We have been working hard to develop cooperation in the energy field. Azerbaijan has been waiting impatiently for putting into operation of the biggest Kazakhstan’s field Kashagan, products from which could be transported to the world markets via BTC and other Azerbaijani pipelines,” Aliyev said.—0--
