Azerbaijan gets more associated gas within contract of century
During 6 months, 2012 Azerbaijan has got 2 billion 93 million cub.m. of associated gas from BP-Azerbaijan company within the framework of implementation of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) field, reads the BP-Azerbaijan report.
According to the PSA signed on September 20, 1994, the associated gas is provided to SOCAR for free (majority part of the associated gas is injected back into the oil wells to maintain strata pressure).
From January to June Azerbaijan received 1.9 billion cub.m. of associated gas or 10.5 million cub.m. a day, but during 6 months this year this volume increased by 1 million cub.m. or by 10.9%.
The report also reads that the plan of associated gas delivery for year 2012 is almost 3 billion cub.m. In 2011 BP-Azerbaijan provided 3.3 billion cub.m. of associated gas to Azerbaijan free of charge. The associated gas delivery decreased by 137 million cub.m. against 2010. The reduction of volume was connected with increase in the volume of gas injected into the oil wells.-0-

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less. This robust reserve position reflects Azerbaijan's fiscal stability and the government’s strategic economic management.
