Azerbaijan Increases Export of Aluminum by 3.1%
In 2016, Azerbaijan exported 66 thousand 239.3 tons of aluminum and articles thereof, which is 3.1% more than in the previous year, according to the State Customs Committee.
Aluminum exports produced revenues exceeding $ 98 million, which is 13.8% more than in 2015.
The main producer of the aluminum industry in Azerbaijan is the company Det-Al Aluminium, which has its own industrial capacity in the city of Ganja and consists of four plants. Raw materials for the production of aluminum (aluminum oxide) are purchased in Brazil and Jamaica.
Azerbaijan exports not only unalloyed aluminum, but also its sheets and plates. Only in the first nine months, the exports of aluminum sheets exceeded 15 thousand tons. Aluminum products of Azerbaijani are purchased by Turkish companies.
The State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan provides information only about the production of unprocessed aluminum alloys. During the first 11 months of 2016 their production amounted to 30,900 tons, which is 32.5% less than in 2015. --08B--
