Azerbaijan joined the updated International Telecommunication Regulations
Azerbaijan will connect to the updated International Telecommunication Regulations (ITRs), involving global interaction and interoperability of ICT services internationally. Old version was adopted in 1988 in Melbourne (Australia), so do not take into account the virtual reality.
As reported by the Ministry of Communications Turan, the document was signed by the Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov, who led the local delegation to the World Conference on International Telecommunications (WCIT-12), organized with the support of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Dubai (UAE), December 3-14.
State - ITU members discussed the topical issues such as the basic conditions of special arrangements for the provision of international telecommunications services, ensuring transparency of roaming services, the quality of communication, the effective use of number and address resources, security and stability of the telecommunications networks.
In addition, the event adopted resolutions on access to Internet services that facilitate access to information for persons with disabilities, sending in large numbers unsolicited content, creating the conditions for connecting to the optical lines of not having access to the sea, energy efficiency, management of electronic waste, etc.
The new edition of the International Telecommunication Regulations is under the law, which entered into force after its ratification. - 17D-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
