Azerbaijan State Investment in Development of Tourism Increased 7 Times
In the year of the I European Games the Azerbaijani government increased the state bank notes on the development of tourism in the 7 times.
According to the Ministry of Finance, this year direct costs for tourism will be 5 million manat. Last year there was allocated only 0.7 million manat.
This year the Ministry of Culture and Tourism intends to open in three districts (Ismayilli, Gabala and Barda) new Tourist Information Centers and to increase this number to 12.
Most of the funds will be directed to show commercials on the tourism potential of Azerbaijan on six popular foreign TV channels. These are National Geographic Channel, BBC, CNBC, Travel Channel, CNN and Euro News. In 2014, the possibility of tourism in our country was shown on TV channels TV5 Monde, Russia 2, My Planet, CNN and Euro News.
According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2014, Azerbaijan was visited by 2.5 million foreigners. --- 08B
