Ban Imposed on the Production of Cement in LLC VAT
A ban has been imposed on the manufacture and sale of Portland cement by VAT, located at 35 km of the Baku - Guba highway. The decision was taken on the basis of material inspection by the members of the Service of State Control on Technical Regulation and Standardization of the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents.
The press service of the State Standard told Turan that the company is without production schedules. As a result, they violated the requirements of GOST 10178-85 (a local state standard). They do not meet the requirements of the labeling and packaging of products. The bags of cement do not indicate the date of manufacture, the actual weight of the bag (36.8 kg) and do not correspond to the original data (40 kg).
In the information resources there is no information on LLC VAT. Therefore, Turan could not get a comment on the management of the company test results.
In 2011, Azerbaijan produced 1 million 424 thousand tons of cement. This is 11.4% more than in 2010.
In the worst record in 2007 the cement production reached 1.7 million tons. The State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents said that Azerbaijan has certified cement production by 16 companies. - 08B-
