Car Market of Azerbaijan Focused on Southeast Asia
In 2014, the official dealers and distributors of car brands delivered to Azerbaijan 38,413 new vehicles, which is 43.7% less than in the previous year. It is noteworthy that cars made in Eastern countries account for about one-third (over 24 thousand) of the imports.
According to the State Customs Committee, the share of South-East Asia in the structure of import of cars is constantly growing. In 2013, 1,908 cars were purchased from China and last year the number increased by 1,253. For comparison, last year delivery of German car brands decreased from 26,664 to 5,192.
Last year, 306 vehicles were purchased in Taiwan, which is 8 times more than in 2013 (35). 959 cars were supplied from Thailand (+45). Indian brands are also becoming popular in Azerbaijan - 1,112 and 1,002 cars were delivered from this country in 2013 and 2014.
Against the background of general reduction of car imports supply of Korean (-39.1%) and Japanese (-30.4%) cars decreased and made up 8,167 and 6,653 units respectively.
Note that in 2013 the average declared price of cars imported by dealers and distributors in Azerbaijan was $ 8,157. Last year, this figure rose to $ 12,304. -----08B

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
