Competition in Privatization
The State Committee for Property Affairs of Azerbaijan held an auction on October 11, at which 35 state property objects were privatized. In five of them, there was a serious competition. That is, one object was claimed by several clients.
As Turan was told in the press service of the Committee, the competition has arisen for unused non-residential premises and facilities in the Nasimi and Khatai districts of Baku and in Sumgait. For a workshop in Sumgait and cellar (16.5 sq.m.), two five-storey building the customer has been registered in the Nasimi district of Baku. For a basement of 24.8 sq. meters in the same building of the Nasimi district of the capital there were 3 customers. For another basement of 40.2 sq. m 2 customers claimed. Two other customers filed an electronic purchase order for the basement of a 9-storey building with an area of 37.8 sq. meters.
In total, the auction privatized 30 percent stake in two joint-stock companies (JSC Sakhsy Gablar and OJSC Demir Beylagan Concrete), as well as 20 small state institutions and objects and 13 vehicles.
Due to the privatization of state property, which occurred as a result of the auction held on 11 October, transferred to the state budget will be more than 1 million AZN.
The next auction will be held on October 25 for the sale of 84 state property items. --08D--

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met today with Ahmed Moallim Figi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, at the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry. This meeting followed a discussion held the previous day between Figi and Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov.
