Diligence of Housewives Causes Rise in Cost of Living
In July, oddly enough, natural deflation of agricultural products came to an end. Housewives connect this with massive purchases of food for canning jams and pickles. The calculations confirm the objectivity of the observations made by the non-governmental Centre for Economic Research (CER).
Specialists, based on standards provided by the Cabinet of Ministers of April 30, 2009, calculated the cost of living.
According to the calculations, the subsistence minimum for able-bodied population as of July 31 totaled AZN 164.38, while in late June it was 1.5 manat less.
For pensioners the living wage was 148.89 manat, and for children under the age of 14 years - 203.53 manat (AZN 5 less than last month). There is more than twice the difference between legally declared and real cost of living, which regularly, intermittently grows.
Expenditure on food for the working age population averaged AZN 100.7, for pensioners - AZN 91.12, and for children under 14 - 113.11 manat. There was relative cheapening.
Expenditure on non-food products for the average working-age population accounted for 38.2 manat (difference of 50 gapiks), for pensioners - AZN 35.16, and for children under 14 years - 72.69 manat.
Expenditure on services amounted to AZN 25.48, AZN 22.61 and AZN 17.73, which is still in the same position in comparison with the beginning of this year.
Recall that in the Law "On the minimum subsistence level in the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2012" the cost of living has been provided at the level of 108 manat, which is 13 manat, or 9% more than in 2011. The minimum level for the working age population (in 2012) was determined in 116 manat, for pensioners - 84 manat and for children under 14 years - 87 AZN. - 17D-
