EBRD AND JAPANESE BANK TO CO-FINANCE PROJECTS IN EASTERN EUROPE AND CAUCASUS
    BAKU/06.09.10/TURAN: The EBRD and the Japanese Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) will make joint efforts for the economic and social development in Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, and the Caucasus. Energy efficiency and environment projects will be specially highlighted.
     The appropriate memorandum on understanding was signed by the EBRD President, Tomas Mirov, and the JBIC Vice-President, Yoshihiko Moria, in London last Friday. The sides will co-finance ecological projects, solutions to decrease the hydrocarbon emission into the atmosphere, large infrastructure and corporate projects, and municipal infrastructure projects connected with the environment. Credits will be also allotted in the local currencies.
     JBIC plans to back the investment activities of mainly Japanese businessmen.--10В-
