EKOL TREATS OIL WASTES IN NORTHERN REGIONS
    BAKU/06.09.10/TURAN: Ekol JSC (SOCAR"s ecological enterprise) has begun to clean the oil-polluted areas of Siyazanneft Oil/Gas Extraction Department 100 km to the north of Baku. They treat the wastes and conduct the lands" biological rehabilitation. They have treated 46,000 m3 of oil drilling wastes and 28,000 m3 of polluted water since early 2010. They also delivered 90,000 m3 of soil to the area.
     Ekol was set up in 2006. The founders include SOCAR (51%) and Lancer S.A. Services (49%), which is a subsidiary of transnational Alfa Laval. --14B--
