Fare for Baku-Tbilisi -Baku flights reduced
Baku/07.02.14/Turan : State Air Company Azerbaijan Airlines lowered the cost of the ticket for passengers economy class in the direction of the Baku- Tbilisi- Baku. In the airline they explained this with a decrease in passenger traffic during the winter.
The cost of round trip tickets on airplanes AZAL (Embraer) is now at least 200 AZN instead of 240 AZN, Turan was told in the tourist company Silk Way Travel, which is a sales agent of airline tickets for AZAL.
A year earlier, this route was flown twice a day . AZAL now flies to Tbilisi only on Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
AZAL also performs joint flights on this route with the airline Qatar Airways three times a week (Tuesday , Thursday and Friday). This airline sells tickets both ways at 348 manats (economy class) and 728 manat (business class).
Note that you can get to Tbilisi also by rail and road . For example, CJSC Azerbaijan Railways operates daily trips to Tbilisi and back. The ticket price for passenger compartment is 28 manat, and for sleeping compartment - 50 manat. However, on the railway the passenger flow is not large. In late February, the governments of Pakistan and Azerbaijan are expected to sign an investment agreement worth $2 billion, which will include several projects with SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan). According to Turan, the energy cooperation projects discussed in January in Islamabad and Baku will feature in the agreement.
