Imports of Household Air Conditioners Increases Fivefold
In January-November 2016, Azerbaijan imported 77,572 household air conditioners. This is 5.3 times more than in the comparable period of the previous year, according to the State Statistics Committee.
For the purchase of air conditioners the importers paid about 19 million dollars, 7.1 times more than in January-November 2015. Domestic air conditioners were registered at the customs at an average price of $ 224.7.
According to the SSC, for 11 months of 2016, Azerbaijan was supplied 84,780 washing machines, 2.1 times more than in the comparable period of 2015. The volume of imports amounted to over $ 15 million (2.6 times).
Imports of household refrigerators decreased approximately twofold and amounted to 22.5 thousand ($ 6 million - 17.3%). ------08D

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
