In 2014 gas and electricity prices could go up by 4.3% in Russia
Gas and electricity prices for the population could go up by 4.3% in Russia in 2014, because of revision of the inflation forecast up to 6.2%, Russian Minister of Economic Development Aleksey Ulyukayev said.
According to the Russian government’s decision, in 2014 natural monopolies will freeze the prices for the industrial consumers and increase prices for the population up to 70% of inflation rate of 2013. Russia has already approved reduction of fees by 4.2%, considering the forecast of inflation of 6%.
As the Ministry of Economic Development increased the forecast of growth of consumer prices up to 6.2%, the growth of tariff for the population could constitute 4.3%, confirmed Ulyukayev. He added that judging by all, the government will have to revise the recently made decisions.
