JSC Azeristiliktechizat Preparing for Increase in Tariffs for Hot Water
JSC Azeristiliktechizat, the state monopoly on centralized heating and hot water, is preparing for the revision of tariffs for their services.
Recently, the Cabinet ruled out hot water from the list of services, prices (tariffs) for which are regulated by the state.
Currently, hot water is supplied only to some buildings in the central part of Baku. This requires a nearby boiler and the necessary engineering communications. This service costs AZN 0.40 for population and for non-population groups - 1.50 manat per 1 cubic meter. At the same time JSC Azersu supplies water to JSC Azeristiliktechizat and discharges wastewater at 1.30 manat.
In one operational area of Azeristiliktechizat in Baku they told Turan that it is planned to increase the rate up to 2 manat 15 gepiks. "Electricity and natural gas are purchased at a commercial cost, which increases the cost of hot water," the source said.
Note that after the increase in tariffs for electricity and natural gas from December 1 of this year the increase in tariffs for heating systems becomes inevitable. Last time the rate for space heating in the Tariff Council was revised 5 years ago, on 28 November 2011. The rate for heating the living space for the population was set at 0.15 manat per 1 sq. m, and for other consumers - 0.25 manat.
The Tariff (Price) Council on 28 November 2016 decided that the tariff for water supply and discharge of wastewater for JSC Azeristiliktechizat will be at 0.50 manat for Baku, Sumgait, Khirdalan and Absheron, other regions of the country – 0.45 manat from January 1, 2016. -----08B

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less. This robust reserve position reflects Azerbaijan's fiscal stability and the government’s strategic economic management.
