KazMunaiGas exploration and production had hydrocarbon inflow on exploration wells on Rozhkovskoye field
Kazakhstan’s KazMunaiGas Exploration and Development company, which is a part of a group of KazMunaiGas companies, continues exploration operations on Rozhkovskoye field of the Fedorovsky bloc and hydrocarbon flow was received on two wells drilled in 2013, reported the company’s press office.
According to the press release, drilling of three subsalt wells (U-11, U-26 and U-24) on the Rozhkovskoye field on Fedorovsky bloc was completed in 2013. The gas flow of 156,000 cub.m. a day and 152 cub.m. of condensate a day was received during testing U-11 well. U-26 well had a gas discharge of 239,000 cub.m. a day and 247 cub.m. of condensate a day. The third well is planned to be tried in the first half of 2014.
The company reported that since 2003 geological exploration was carried out on 10 exploration wells on the Fedorovsky bloc, of which 8 ones were successful, one well is going to be tested and one appeared to be dry.
Rozhkovskoye oil and gas condensate field was discovered on the Fedorovsky bloc in 2008. In spring 2011 KMG Exploration and Development bought 50% shares of Ural Group Limited, which owns a license for development of the Fedorovsky bloc, from Exploration Venture Limited company for $164.4 million.
During 2013 KMG Exploration and Development increased oil production by 2% up to 12,387,000 tons. KMG Exploration and Development is among top three leaders of oil production in Kazakhstan. By the end of 2011 volume of its proved and probable resources totaled 226 million tons.—0—
