Law On Tobacco and Tobacco Products to Be Brought into Line with Law On Advertising
The law "On tobacco and tobacco products" will be brought into line with the law "On Advertising". The Committee on Agrarian Policy of Milli Majlis today discussed the possibility of a ban on the advertising of these products. According to the chairman of the committee Eldar Ibrahimov, the legislative amendments initiated by the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan provide for a healthy lifestyle and the prevention of the harmful effects of tobacco products.
According to Article 20.1.5 introduced in the points of sale, giving cigarettes and other tobacco products in the appendage to other goods will be banned.
Amendments to Article 20.2 provide for a ban on the advertising of these products, including lighters, pipes, water pipes, electronic cigarettes, and even cigarette paper. The producers of these products are taken away the right of sponsorship of any activities.
Recall, to bring the Code of Administrative Offenses in accordance with the law "On Advertising", it has registered a fine of 400 manat for offenders (officers), and AZN 1,000 for legal entities. Also, a penalty of 100 manat is provided for smoking on planes, 40 manat - on trains, 50 manat - on the subway, and 40-50 manat - on public transport. According to Ibrahimov, unfortunately, performers show no enthusiasm for this document.
Following the discussion, the draft law is adopted for the promotion at the plenary session of Milli Majlis. --17D-
