Natig Aliyev calls on the US to support the South gas corridor
Political support is very important to implement large energy projects, said Natig Aliyev; the Azerbaijani Minister of Energy, at today’s meeting with the US Ambassador to Baku Robert Cekuta. According to the press-service of the Ministry of Energy, the works on the realization of the Sothern Gas Stream are going in line with the schedele. Speaking about the problems inthe implementation of the TAP project, (Transadriatic gas pipeline), Aliyev appreciated the position of the US ion the issue.

Cekuta promised support of Washington while production and transportation of gas from Azerbaijan. During the meeting they exchanged views on the impact of events in Greece on the energy projects and the world prices for oil, on the projects of Transcaspian pipeline, and the gas pipeline “Turkish Stream.” -16D-

Azerbaijan's Consumer Price Index (CPI) in December 2024 marked a year-on-year increase of 4.9%, with food and beverage inflation leading the surge, according to data from the State Statistics Committee. The overall CPI stood at 104.9%, driven by a 5.5% rise in food products, beverages, and tobacco, 2.4% in non-food products, and a sharp 6.3% hike in paid services provided to the population.
