Pharmacy Speculators to Be Punished Financially
There are proposals to introduce penalties in the field of application of the mechanism of common tariffs for drugs. The upper limit of them, depending on the status of the entrepreneur, is 50 thousand manats.
As the head of the Civil Service for Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Protection under the Ministry of Economy and Industry Zahid Isayev told reporters, the new mechanism for the introduction of uniform tariffs for drugs is based on research. It turns out that among the drugs sold there are those sold at a low enough price in the base country, but here the price is too high at times (as recently wrote Turan, such countries are ten).
According to the official, the mechanism also takes into account the interests of entrepreneurs engaged in the pharmaceutical business and provides them with a fair margin to 20%, but the main thing is the quality of drugs sold as approved by the margin that will vary depending on the base price and create a healthy competitive environment for entrepreneurs," he said.
The Secretary of the Tariff (Price) Council of Azerbaijan Ilkin Majidov, in turn, announced a price reduction for drugs. Prices will be reduced significantly after uniform tariffs on medicines are introduced. "There are 10 basic exporting countries. Now it's up to the approval of uniform tariffs in the country - it will be published on the websites of the Ministry of Economy and Industry, the Tariff Board and the Ministry of Health. The price of medicines will also be specified on the boxes of drugs," said the responsible official.
Azerbaijan has registered more than 4.5 thousand drugs. So tariffs will be firstly defined for basic medicines. In the case of any deliberate change in tariffs or not indicating the price on the packaging serious administrative measures will be taken, he said. --17D-
