SOCAR and Swiss Vitol going to establish investment cooperation

State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Swiss Vitol Group, one of the biggest energy trading companies in the world , have discussed the issues of investment and trading cooperation, reads SOCAR’s statement released yesterday.

The statement reads that the issue has been discussed at the meeting between SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev and President of Vitol Yan Taylor. During the talks the sides have also discussed the current situation and the perspectives at the international market of energy carriers.

“The sides have discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the investment and trading fields and also touched upon the probability of joint operations in the future and advisability of expansion of ties,” reads the statement.

Vitol Group is a Swiss-Dutch company specializing in oil and oil products trade. It was established in 1966 and is the second biggest oil trader in the world after Glencore.—0—
