SOCAR to continue gasification of Georgia
In 2013 SOCAR will continue gasification of Georgia, Georgian Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze told journalists on Tuesday. 30,000 customers will be supplied with gas this year.
“In addition to round-the-clock quality gas and power supply, we are also going to install meters and gasify the regions. We have reached an agreement with SOCAR and we are going to install individual meters for 140,000 customers,” Kaladze said.
He said of total number of meters, which will be installed, 50,000 ones will be installed this year and the remaining part till 2015.
In 2012 SOCAR Georgia Gaz, daughter company of SOCAR Energy Georgia (represents interests of SOCAR in Georgia), supplied with gas 39,500 new customers.
According to the contract signed with the Georgian government, SOCAR Georgia Gas (daughter company of SOCAR Energy Georgia) must gasify at least 150,000 new (potential) customers and invest at least $40 million into the gasification of the country. However, investments will significantly exceed this amount.—0—

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
