The Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry of Azerbaijan Sahib Mammadov, being in Derbent on a working visit, told reporters that the problem with the supply of agricultural products to Russia had been solved.
The difficulties were caused by the introduction of the Russian government tolls on federal highways for trucks weighing over 12 tons. More than 120 cars (of the 180) with local agricultural production concentrated in the cargo segment of the Derbent railway station have been unloaded. Most of the goods are persimmons and apples. Some of them got therefore spoiled as a result of the stoppage.
Recall the domestic delegation headed by Mammadov met with the Prime Minister of Dagestan Abdusamad Gamidov and the Russian representative assured that such problems would not arise. According to the State Customs Committee, the goods faced no problem when crossing the Azerbaijani border, but there were obstacles to the delivery of goods to destinations, particularly in Moscow and the Moscow region.
After the strikes of transport workers, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation worked out an amendment abolishing penalties for non-payment of travel on federal highways for drivers of vehicles weighing over 12 tons. Amendments to the Code of Administrative Offences have been prepared in cooperation with the State Duma deputies.
For the owners of heavy vehicles it is proposed to reduce the penalty nine times - to 50 thousand Russian rubles. --- 17D-
