The turnover of the national payment system increased by 12.6%
Credit organizations of Azerbaijan met in July 2013 2,524,000 payment orders totaling 11,854 mln. By increasing the number of payments by 645 thousand (34.3 % ), their total turnover increased compared to the previous month by 2,263 million manat.
Compared with the corresponding period last year, the number of payments in January and July increased by 544 thousand or 3.6% to 15,579,000 , and their volume increased by 8201 million or 12.6 % to 73,482 million manat.
In the structure of payment transactions in January- July, the proportion of large and urgent payments had 1.8% ( 287,000 ) of the total and 88.8 % ( 65,254 million manat) of the total. The average size of this category of payments has increased as compared to July 2012 by 10.9 %, amounting to 213,400 manat, and small and medium size retail payments increased by 50.3 % to 564.4 manat.
As of August 1, 2013 payment system users were 43 organizations , 41 of which could make large and urgent payments . - 15B -

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less.
