Transformation in Agricultural Research Institutions
Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers on April 17, №109 made structural reforms in the Azerbaijan Center of Agricultural Science (ATSAN) and in the research institutes subordinated to it. In the course of improving the independent activity four research institutes were stopped.
ATSAN was called the center of agricultural science and information consultation (ZANIC) of the Ministry of Agriculture. The Crops, Grasslands and Pastures Research Institute was attached to the Institute of Agriculture. The Scientific Research Institute of Oversight of Veterinary Drugs joined the Research Institute of Veterinary Medicine. Departments and laboratories of the Research Institute of Sericulture were divided between the Livestock Research Institute and the Institute of Plant Protection and Technical Plants (SRI ZRTR). The latter institution was also attached SRI of Cotton Research. The Research Institute of Agricultural Mechanics was transferred to the subordination of the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University. The Ganja scientific survey station for the application of chemicals was subordinated to the SRI ZRTR.
Note that ZANIC also has 4 other research institutes.
Azerbaijan declared 2015 the "Year of Agriculture". In all regions departments of agriculture were created at the Ministry of Agriculture. ----08B

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met today with Ahmed Moallim Figi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, at the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry. This meeting followed a discussion held the previous day between Figi and Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov.
