Fifteen people killed in the city center
In the city center, where clashes renewed between the opposition and law enforcers of the Interior Ministry, at least 15 people were killed, reports Reuters. The dead bodies are lying on the Maidan, near the hotel, Cossack.
All the victims are men. Opposition supporters claim these people were shot by snipers.
Clashes between the opposition and the internal troops resumed in the center of Kiev in the morning of February 20. The activists pushed the police troops from their positions, taking the October Palace, the European Square and Grushevsky Street.
According to the latest data, about 100 fighters of the police troops surrendered to the opposition.
Last night, the opposition leaders agreed to a truce with the government. As the head of UDAR, Vitali Klitschko, said at a meeting with the foreign ministers of Germany, France and Poland, the government violated this agreement. "The truce was violated by Berkut (Golden Eagle), which tried to burn the Conservatory. After this the truce ended," said Klitschko.
