The witness refused to testify against the activists of NIDA
The Baku Court of Grave Crimes chaired by Javid Huseynov continued the trial of seven activists of NIDA and the head of the organization Free Youth, Ilkin Rustamzadeh.
According to the lawyer Nemat Kerimli, a security officer from Baku Boulevard, Ramazan Mehdiyev, gave evidence. He is a witness to a scene that is associated with the dance Harlem Shake on the Boulevard on 27 February 2013.
The witness said he made a remark to the young people when they were filming near the sculpture.
There was no violence against him or the property.
The lawyer said that at the preliminary investigation the witness said that he faced violence. "This shows that the witness signed the paper, which he was given by the investigator," said the lawyer.
The court then decided to bring in the witnesses Anar Abbasov and Tofig Asadov, who repeatedly ignored the summons, in a compulsory way. The trial will continue on February 21.

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
