Action on Lachin road - day eight
Baku/19.12.22/Turan: The situation on the Lachin road near Shusha remained unchanged throughout the weekend. Dozens of protesters continue to block the road, allowing civilians and Russian peacekeepers to pass in both directions.
Thus, on Saturday and Sunday peacekeepers' trucks passed in both directions without any problems. On Sunday, a family of one of the Russian peacekeepers passed through the checkpoint near Shusha on the side of Khankandi.
The Armenian population made no attempt to pass in either direction, despite the announced guarantees. The protesters declared that they would not let military cargo or mining products from gold and molybdenum mines through.
No excesses between the protesters and peacekeepers have been recorded. On Sunday they watched the final match of the World Cup together on a huge screen mounted right at the checkpoint.-02B-
