Action to support victims of the earthquake in Iran is held in Turkey
This afternoon in Ankara, natives of South Azerbaijan organized a rally to support the earthquake victims in Iran. Dozens of protesters have made the march from the park Kuguru to the Iranian Embassy. Participants were stopped by police on the outskirts of the embassy, and read a resolution of the action.
The document expressed the demand to disclose the true death toll in the earthquake, provide compensation to the families of died and wounded, to restore historical monuments damaged by the earthquake.
The police did not allow participants to pass the text of the resolution to the embassy. Then, several participants laid on the ground, wrapped in a shroud, and imitated the dead.
The representatives of the Iranian Azerbaijanis told reporters that the actual death toll was 6000 people. However, the authorities underestimate this number by 20 times, and refuse to accept international assistance.
