Ali Kerimli, the leader of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), has described the court's decision to accept a lawsuit against him as fulfilling a political order. "I am not at all surprised by the court's decision. The court has executed a political order - accepting the case for consideration despite the lack of any legal grounds and criminal events," Kerimli said in a statement to his supporters.

For decades, opposition leader Tofig Yagublu has faced legal persecution in Azerbaijan. Detained since December, he is now standing trial. Legal organizations Trial Watch and Gibson Dunn are tracking the case and documenting violations to present to UN Special Rapporteurs. This information was shared by the Foundation on its account on platform X.

The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, in collaboration with the NATO Joint Force Command based in Brunssum and with the support of the Azerbaijan Media Development Agency, organized a strategic communications course in Baku. According to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, representatives from government institutions were involved in the training.

Fazil Gasimov, a doctoral student at Istanbul University, has been on a hunger strike in detention for 91 days, protesting against his "illegal detention." According to his brother, Nazim Gasimov, Fazil's  health remains extremely serious. "He could die at any moment. Despite our pleas, he is not changing his decision. The next court hearing for Fazil is scheduled for September 19. He has stated that he will continue the hunger strike until all his requests are met," Nazim Gasimov said.
