Clashes between Muslims Inflict More Damage than Islamophobia
The clashes between Muslims (mazhabs) apply more damage to the Islamic world than external attacks such as Islamophobia. This opinion was expressed by the head of the Youth Forum of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Elshad Iskenderov, speaking on February 4 at the ceremony Youth Capital of the OIC Countries - 2017 in the city of Shiraz, Iran.
According to the decision of the 3rd Conference of Ministers of Youth and Sport of the OIC countries, after Istanbul, the title of Capital of the OIC Youth was awarded to the cities Putrajaya (Malaysia), Shiraz (Iran) and Faz (Morocco).
According to Iskandarov, the Forum, one of the main objectives of which is the unity and cooperation of the Muslim world, stands the enemy of every manifestation of bias and ideology of Takfiri mazhab. “In order to stop the conflicts in the Muslim world on the basis of radicalism, leading public figures are required to openly condemn the extremist calls of their schools of thought.
The rapid growth of Islamophobia in the world is a threat to the entire Muslim world, Sunni and Shia. At least, for this reason, prevention of mazhab dissociation is of great importance for all countries of the OIC,” said Isgandarov.
A special place among the samples of dialogue and cooperation between mazhabs is taken by the Azerbaijani model that has developed over the centuries by Irfan traditions.
During the event in Shiraz a protocol was signed on cooperation between the OIC Youth Forum and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Iran on the implementation of the Youth Capital program. -06D-
