Defense Ministry: The reason for the crash of MIG-29 - a collision with a bird
Baku/22.08.19/ Turan: After examining the data of the flight recorder (black box), the MIG-29 fighter that crashed into the Caspian Sea on July 24, experts determined the cause of the crash, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry"s press service said.
According to the Commission of Inquiry, until the crash the aircraft was fully operational. The study showed that before falling into the sea, the plane collided with an extraneous object (a bird or a flock of birds) and the pilot received damage, the report said.
"According to the black box, the pilot tried to regain control of the aircraft to prevent an accident. However, the severe bodily injuries sustained by the pilot made this impossible and caused the plane to crash. "
The Ministry of Defense also called unfounded allegations that Azerbaijan does not have specialists and equipment for decoding flight recorders.
After each flight, the information of the recorders is analyzed in a special laboratory, a complete picture is created of how the military pilot completed the tasks assigned to him, as well as the technical condition of the aircraft, the report said.
However, it is not clear from this message why the pilot was not ejected? It is also not clear how a collision with birds could break the glass of the cockpit and cause injury to the pilot? -02D-
