ECHR begins communication on four complaints about the demolition of housing in Baku
The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has started communication with four appeals from Azerbaijan on the violation of property rights, wrote on his page on Facebook the lawyer Fariz Namazly. The talk is about citizens who lived on the avenue Neftchilar whose homes were demolished against their will. By the decisions of the Executive Power of Baku they were offered compensation at the rate of 1500-2000 manats from 2010 for 1 square. meter.
Some residents agreed. However, the applicants did not agree with the amount of compensation. At the same time, their homes were demolished without a court order.
The complaint raises the question on a violation of the rights of the applicants guaranteed by Article 6.2 (right to a fair trial) of the European Convention on Human Rights, Article 1 of Protocol No. 1 to the Convention ( demolition in the public interest), 8 (a violation of the right to housing).
ECHR has sent questions to the government. -03B-
