Elmar Mammadyarov Strengthens Relations with Peru
Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Peru’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rafael Rondzhagliolo, during a visit to this country.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs press service, Rondzhagliolo said that his country is interested in developing cooperation with Azerbaijan, and that it is necessary to create a legal framework in order to develop and expand relationships.
In turn, Mammadyarov said that Azerbaijan is interested in cooperation with Peru. According to him, the strengthening of political cooperation is the guarantor for economic cooperation and, for this purpose, it is necessary to continue mutual visits and to hold business forums and cultural events.
Mammadyarov invited his Peruvian counterpart to visit Azerbaijan, and the invitation was accepted.
During his visit to Peru, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister also met with the Minister of Energy of Peru, Jorge Merino. The sides exchanged views on opportunities for cooperation and exchange of expertise and information. -03D04-

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) today issued five rulings on applications from Azerbaijan. The case of "Afgan Mammadov v. Azerbaijan" concerned the complainant's exclusion from the Bar Association. Mammadov was expelled based on a complaint filed by a colleague, which he considered unjust. The ECHR ruled that Mammadov's rights had been violated and ordered Azerbaijan to pay him €5,000 in compensation for moral damage and €1,000 to cover legal costs.

During the ongoing COP29 climate conference in Baku on November 14, a group of activists staged a protest condemning Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The activists also denounced countries that supply oil and weapons to nations waging aggressive wars. The protest featured placards with slogans such as: "From fossil fuels to peace!", "End war crimes!", "Punish the aggressor!", and "Phase out fossil fuel use to achieve peace!" among others.
