Embassy of Iran accuses the Migration Service of Azerbaijan
Iranian embassy in Azerbaijan considers illegal the decision of the Azerbaijani authorities on the return Ahmad Ahmadzade, the employee of the Iranian Cultural Center.
The statement of the embassy noted that Ahmadzade had a passport and Migration Service of Azerbaijan illegally intervened in the registration of a person, the owner such a document.
On November 19 Ahmadzade was detained by the Migration Service of Azerbaijan in connection with the termination of the term of registration of his stay in the country. However, after negotiations of the Iranian side with the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Ahmadzade was released an hour later.
At the demand of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry and due to expiration of Ahmadzade’s visa, on November 21 he left Baku for Tehran.
The statement of the Iranian Embassy reads that , "in connection with illegal interference of the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan" and such a treatment with a citizen of Iran, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry was handed a protest note.
The Azerbaijani side has not commented yet the statement of the Iranian embassy. -16D-

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) today issued five rulings on applications from Azerbaijan. The case of "Afgan Mammadov v. Azerbaijan" concerned the complainant's exclusion from the Bar Association. Mammadov was expelled based on a complaint filed by a colleague, which he considered unjust. The ECHR ruled that Mammadov's rights had been violated and ordered Azerbaijan to pay him €5,000 in compensation for moral damage and €1,000 to cover legal costs.

During the ongoing COP29 climate conference in Baku on November 14, a group of activists staged a protest condemning Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The activists also denounced countries that supply oil and weapons to nations waging aggressive wars. The protest featured placards with slogans such as: "From fossil fuels to peace!", "End war crimes!", "Punish the aggressor!", and "Phase out fossil fuel use to achieve peace!" among others.
