France reacts to Aliyev's criticism
Baku/19.22.22/Turan: The official representative of the French Foreign Ministry commented on the criticism by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev of Emmanuel Macron's statements in an interview with "France 2" TV channel.
When asked about the reaction of Paris to Aliyev’s words that Macron crossed out France’s friendly and balanced relations with Azerbaijan with his statements, the French diplomat answered as follows:
“These comments do not change the mobilization of France to achieve progress towards peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Thanks to the commitments of the President of the French Republic that on October 6 in Prague, outside the summit of the European Political Community, a quadripartite meeting with the participation of Charles Michel, President Aliyev and Prime Minister Pashinyan became possible. The meeting made it possible to move towards the desired goal, the declatation adopted on this occasion noted. On the other hand, France fully supports the process launched by the EU in order to create opportunities for negotiations on the signing of a peace treaty between the two countries.”
In turn, French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Zachary Gross said that his country's Foreign Ministry confirmed that Paris is fully mobilized for the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The meeting in Prague of the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia, with the participation of the President of France and the head of the EU Council, and the joint statement adopted by them is a step in this direction, he wrote on Twitter. France supports EU negotiations on a peace agreement. --16В--
