French Investments in Azerbaijan Reach 2.4 Billion US Dollars
France, as a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group for settlement of the Karabakh conflict, is ready to organize a meeting of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia. This was stated by the Ambassador of France to Azerbaijan Aurelia Bouchez on July 14 at a reception on the occasion of her country’s national holiday - the Bastille Day.
She also noted the continued rapid development of the bilateral dialogue between Azerbaijan and France and the expansion of economic ties.
These relations cover different areas - energy, trade, transportation, high technology, space research, the environment, culture and art, and others.
Thus France, for its part, supports the diversification of the economy.
The Ambassador stressed that France appreciates the tradition of tolerance and multiculturalism in Azerbaijan.
Bouchez also welcomed the great interest in the French language and culture in Azerbaijan. In this context, she drew attention to the fact that 500 teachers of French work in Azerbaijan.
The French Lyceum operates in Baku and a joint university will open in the fall.
In turn, the Deputy Economy Minister of Azerbaijan Sahil Babayev said that Azerbaijan highly values its relations with France, which develop in many directions.
France is one of the main economic partners of Azerbaijan. There are 44 French companies and the trade turnover between the two countries has reached $ 1 billion. The total volume of French investments in Azerbaijan amounts to 2.4 billion USD.
Babayev also pointed to the development of cooperation directly between the regions of the two countries.
