Minimum Wage in Azerbaijan $ 68
In the countries of the former Soviet Union there is a tendency to increase the amount of the minimum wage.
In Azerbaijan, the last time the amount of the minimum wage was increased three years ago - in September 2013, when the amount was 105 manats.
The economist-expert Samir Aliyev, exploring the growth trend of the minimum wage in the countries of the former Soviet Union, said that then the amount of minimum wage in Azerbaijan amounted to 134 dollars.
Since the last devaluation the minimum wage in Azerbaijan is at the current rate of $ 68, said the expert, who believes that in the countries of the former Soviet Union there is a completely different trend. According to him, in 2016 in most countries of the former Soviet Union minimum wage was increased. In Russia, since July 1, 2016 the minimum wage is $ 117. Earlier in May, the minimum wage was increased in Ukraine and since May 1, it is 58.4 dollars. "Since December 2016, in Ukraine there will be a new increase, and the monthly minimum wage will amount to 62.4 dollars, and the hourly will be 0.37 dollars." The Belarusian government has increased the amount of the minimum wage. On June 1, employers must pay wages, at least in the amount of $ 119. In Moldova, the increase was in May. Since May 1, the minimum wage has been raised to $ 106. The expert notes that in Armenia at present the minimum wage is about $ 115. The government intends to increase the minimum wage to 136 dollars (65 thousand AMD) as of July 1, but this did not happen because of the poor budget. In neighboring Georgia, the minimum wage is about $ 70. As for the countries of Central Asia, Samir Aliyev noted, in these countries the minimum wage increased from the beginning of the current year. Since January 1, the minimum wage in Kazakhstan is 68 dollars, and in Turkmenistan it is 168 dollars. –0----
