Helicopters of Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry Participate in Fighting Fire in Georgia
Baku / 22.08.17 / Turan: The helicopter of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan left for Georgia on August 21 to participate in extinguishing the fire in the Borjomi region.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that a special helicopter Ka-32A in the morning of August 22 started operations to extinguish the fire in the forests of Samtskhe-Javakheti.
According to Georgian sources, the fire has covered 5 hectares of forest and is being spread because of a strong wind.
At the request of the Georgian authorities, Azerbaijan has sent a second helicopter to the disaster area.
In turn, two more helicopters from Turkey will take part in the localization of the fire today, the Georgian authorities said. -02D-

On Monday, the Baku Appeals Court considered the appeal of Talysh researcher Iqbal Abilov against the extension of his detention for another four months. The defense argued that the decision to extend Abilov's detention was unjustified, lawyer Fariz Namazly told reporters.
