Ilham Aliyev: Information War Waged Against Us
Baku / 28.05.19 / Turan: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev called for resistance to the information war launched against the country in the world.
"Azerbaijan is a country that has been the target of information war for many years. Distorted, false information, fictional facts, fictitious news about the country have received a wide scope. We must adequately respond to this and bring our realities to the world," said Aliyev on the eve of a reception on the occasion of the Republic Day.
As Aliyev noted, "behind the majority of attacks against us are the Armenian lobby and their allies - some local groups calling themselves the opposition."
"Their goal is to tarnish Azerbaijan and spread distorted and false information about Azerbaijan. This is one of the types of information warfare. By our policy, we are defeating and breaking all this lie and slander, since today Azerbaijani realities show that the country is confidently and rapidly developing," said Aliyev.
He noted that in his practice he often encountered cases when foreign guests were pleasantly surprised by the development of Azerbaijan, its "clean, neat and beautiful cities" and the "positive public mood".
".. Why did this surprise arise? Because a multilateral, purposeful information war is constantly conducted against us. The goal is to discredit Azerbaijan, to strike at our development and to undermine the traditional foundations of our society ... We can win this (informational) war only with our deeds, our determination," Aliyev said. -06D--
