Jamil Gasanli demanded new elections
Baku/10.10.13/Turan : The presidential candidate of the National Council of Democratic Forces ( NCDF ) Jamil Gasanli demanded cancellation of the results of the presidential elections in view of their total falsification and conduct new .
This Gasanli said at a press conference today.
According to him, the extent of fraud is so great that it is impossible to establish the will of the people.
During the vote, the ruling party New Azerbaijan, the local authorities , employees of budget organizations in droves broke the law by conducting so-called "carousel" , a massive face-off ballot , creating opportunities for multiple voting and other irregularities .
In most polling stations observers were not given the protocols of voting results.
How Gasanli said , the country once again underwent a process of usurpation of power.
"According to Article 1 of the Constitution, the source of power is the people. But yesterday, the Azerbaijani people were not actually able to use this right and were denied the opportunity to shape their power," said Gasanli .
He relied on the sixth article of the Constitution - "the inadmissibility of the usurpation of power." "In fact, yesterday the power was usurped by one party and a group of people, which is the most serious crime against the nation. Ilham Aliyev effectively appropriated the power," said Gasanli.
According to Article 107, a person that usurped power, under any circumstances, can not remain in power and should be removed and be punished in accordance with the Constitution and the laws.
"The election is not the end of our struggle," said Gasanli.
He said the campaign staff went to court in connection with an investigation of fraud and demanding cancellation of the election results.
Form of struggle will be as peaceful protests. The decision of the meeting on October 12 remains in force, but the Baku Mayor's office did not respond to NCDF. - 03S06 –
