Lavrov buried the hope of separatists in Karabakh to join Russia
Moscow/18.01.21/Turan: Moscow does not have any idea on recognizing the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh and its joining Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday.
“As for the exotic proposal to include Nagorno-Karabakh in the Russian Federation, as I understand it, the independence of Karabakh has not been recognized by anyone, including the Republic of Armenia, we have no such thoughts.
We proceed from the fact that all issues in this region should be resolved between the countries located here, and primarily between Armenia and Azerbaijan," Lavrov said at a press conference on January 18.
He stressed that the Russian Federation will be ready to help find a solution that will ensure peace, stability and security in this region.
It should be reminded that such opinions have been expressed more than once in recent weeks by the leaders of the separatists of Nagorno-Karabakh, in particular the head of the "Security Council" Vitaly Balasanyan, his predecessor Samvel Babayan, and then David Babayan, who calls himself "Foreign Minister".
It is noteworthy that these absurd statements were published most of all by the Russian media and, above all, by the state agency RIA-Novosti. -02D-
